Scales read from the sheet
The scale printed on the sheet is offered in one click, or calibrate on any dimension. Scale regions handle details drawn at a different scale on the same page.
Snaps to the drawing's own lines
Line ends, intersections and points on a line come from the PDF's vectors, so takeoffs land exactly where the drawing says.
Joists, repeats and typical floors
Lay out a bay of joists at a spacing in one step, split members, and repeat a takeoff ×N for typical floors. Totals, cut lists and pricing all count it.
Full AISC, UK and EU shape libraries
About 1,600 standard shapes with locked table weights, plus plate by size, stairs by risers, grating, deck and railing assemblies priced per foot.

Steel takeoff: common questions
Does it work with scanned drawings?
Yes. Drawings without a text layer are read with built-in OCR, so sheet numbers and printed scales are still found. Takeoff works on any PDF.
Can I bring my existing item list?
Yes. Import an Excel item list from Settings and your items, names and weights come with you. Items you already have are left as they are, and imported items reach everyone in your company.
Is it metric?
Both. Switch between feet-inches and metric at any time with U. It only changes the display; totals and costs stay identical.
